2.1 General safety advice
WARNING!
Supervision of children handling hand sanitizers
The licensing for hand sanitizers under German pharmaceutical law is
generally granted for grown-ups.
There are no hand sanitizers licensed especially for children.
However, this does not mean that children may not or should not disinfect
their hands. Children should however carry out hand disinfecting under
supervision. It is important that children do not touch their face with fresh
product on their fingers, much less touch their eyes.
When smaller children, it is better if a grown-up disinfects the child’s hands
by putting the child’
s hands in between his/her own hands and rubbing on
the preparation and waiting for it to absorb (usually 30 seconds).
Alcoholic hand sanitizers contain care substances and are harmless for
intact skin. In contrast to soap and water, alcohol changes the natural acidic
outside layer of the skin, thereby retaining its skin-protecting properties.
The alcohol components of a hand sanitizer containing alcohol evaporate
very quickly when applied. Alcohol cannot get into the body via the skin.
2.2 Use for the intended purpose
NOTICE!
The dispensers are suitable for non-contact disinfection of hands, but
also for dosing liquid soaps and lotions (for gels please note viscosity).
For hygienic reasons, the dispenser pumps must be replaced regularly
after the (fourth canister change (see
Ä
‘Removal of the pump’
on page 32 and
Ä
Chapter 10 ‘Spare parts and accessories’
on page 38). The pumps must not be reconditioned, but must be
replaced! A spare pump is included in the delivery.
The article or EBS number for reordering the pumps can be found in the
Ä
Chapter 10 ‘Spare parts and accessories’ on page 38.
The dispensers are designed exclusively for operation with 1.5 V AA
Mignon LR6 batteries. Pay attention to the correct polarity (+ / -) of the
batteries. Do not use rechargeable batteries.
Make sure that the pump hose hangs freely in the canister and is not
kinked at any point.
Do not pull on the pump hose, the pump may jam.
The spray pump is only suitable for thin-bodied, easy-flowing
disinfectants without additives (micro/nanoparticles).
Always pay attention that the device is sufficiently stable.
