5.2 Operation
WARNING!
When replacing the containers, it must be ensured that the measuring
medium and the additive are not confused, as only the permissible
measuring media is permitted and the system may be endangered or
destroyed by other media.
After the metering station has been correctly put into operation, you can use the metering
station during daytime operation. This chapter describes how to proceed in daytime mode
and the points you need to be aware of.
Daytime operation includes the following tasks:
n Switching the metering station on and of
f
n Switching the pump on and off
n Select the operating mode for the metering pump
n Starting and stopping the metering pump
n Putting the metering station into functional operation
n Monitoring the operation of the metering station

raining of operators:
The staff must receive training consisting of at least 4 hours of theoretical
instruction.
Certification of operators:
Operators without valid certification are not permitted to operate the
metering station.
Supervision of operators:
Metering station operators can only be trained / tested in terms of working
or operating environment under the direct and constant supervision of a
system expert. If the operator does not have the prescribed competencies,
further training must be arranged to achieve that goal.
Physical ability:
The operator must be physically able to perform the cleaning procedure
after the training.
Eye test:
An eye test performed by a trained person must confirm that the student
has sufficient day and night visibility and depth perception for the metering
station.
Generally:
During operation or maintenance of the machine, the careful attention of
the operator is required.
The operator must be provided with work clothing appropriate to the
nature and extent of the risks.
The operator must wear protective goggles to protect the eyes from the
chemicals.
The operator must be provided with appropriate shoes to protect him/
herself from any hazards.
