Additional remarks on some of the commands:
5.2.1 Printer on
http://<ip or host name of printer>/scontrol?cmd=enable_printer
Enables the print mode of the cartridge controller. This includes transferring the current image
and settings to the cartridge controller
5.2.2 Printer off
http://<ip or host name of printer>/scontrol?cmd=disable_printer
Disables the print mode of the cartridge controller. Removes the voltage from the cartridges
connector so that it is safe to remove or change the cartridge.
5.2.3 Test print
http://<ip or host name of printer>/scontrol?cmd=print_test
The command will send a set of fire pulses to all 300 nozzles. This function is primarily for
cleaning a blocked cartridge. It requires that the print mode is enabled.
5.2.4 Main Firmware Update TFTP
http://<ip or host name of printer>/scontrol?cmd=flash&source=tftp
The command will reboot the printer immediately and start a firmware upgrade via TFTP. The
printer will assign itself an IP-address of 192.168.3.11and is looking for a Firmware upgrade on
an TFTP-Server answering on the IP-address 192.168.3.10. This is a perfect solution to update
a large set of printers one-by-one. The upgrade can take up to 20 minutes.
5.2.5 Main Firmware Update USB
http://<ip or host name of printer>/scontrol?cmd=flash&source=usb
The command will reboot the printer immediately and start a firmware upgrade via USB. The
USB-drive needs to be plugged into the right USB port of the printer. The firmware needs to
have the filename zImage.sdcard. The USB drive needs to be formatted in FAT32. The upgrade
can take up to 20 minutes.
