Uplink SFP Connections
The ES3526S switch provides 24 downlink fiber ports and two combination SFP/
RJ-45 uplink ports. The 1000BASE-T ports can provide a trunked high-bandwidth
connection to a core switch or router at the CO. Besides balancing the load across
each port in the trunk, the additional port provides redundancy by taking over the
load if the other port in the trunk fails.
The figure below illustrates the ES3526S connecting to switches with UTP cable.
