1 Introduction
1.1 Scope and definitions
This manual provides installation, operation and
maintenance instructions for the Edwards AIM Gauge
(Active Inverted Magnetron Gauge). You must use the
AIM Gauge as specified in this manual.
Read this manual before you install and operate the AIM
Gauge. Important safety information is highlighted as
WARNING and CAUTION instructions; you must obey
these instructions. The use of WARNINGS and CAUTIONS
is defined below.

1.1 Ziel und Definitionen
Diese Betriebsanleitung enthält Installations-, Betriebs-
und Wartungsanleitungen für die Edwards-Aktiv-
Penning-Meßröhren AIM. Verwenden Sie bitte die AIM
entsprechend den Anleitungen dieser Betriebsanleitung.
Lesen Sie diese Betriebsanleitung vor Installation und
Betrieb der AIM-Meßröhre. Wichtige Sicherheitsangaben
sind durch WARNUNGS- und VORSICHTS-Anweisungen
hervorgehoben. Bitte befolgen Sie diese Anweisungen.
Die Verwendung von WARNUNGS- und VORSICHTS-
Anweisungen ist nachfolgend definiert.
VORSICHT
Mit Vorsicht werden Anweisungen gekennzeichnet,
die unbedingt befolgt werden müssen, um Schäden an
Ausrü- stungen, angeschlossenen Ausrüstungen oder
Fehler im Gesamtprozeß zu vermeiden.

Ce manuel présente les consignes de montage,
d’exploitation et d’entretien de la jauge AIM Edwards
(jauge active Magnétron inverse). Vous devez utiliser la
jauge AIM comme il est indiqué dans ce manuel.
Lisez ce manuel avant d’installer et de faire fonctionner
la jauge AIM. Les informations de sécurité importantes
sont mises en valeur par des paragraphes encadrés
intitulés AVERTISSEMENT et ATTENTION. Vous devez en
respecter les consignes. L’utilisation de ces messages
AVERTISSEMENT et ATTENTION est définie ci-dessous.

Les unités utilisées tout au long de ce manuel sont
