  If your Electro-Voice speakers have poor low-frequency response, it might be due to the speakers being wired out of polarity. When speakers are connected out of polarity, the low frequencies will cancel each other acoustically. Check the wire markings on your speaker wires. Make sure that the amplifier (+) terminal connects to pin 1+ and the amplifier (-) terminal connects to pin 1- of the NL4 connector.
