How to troubleshoot no sound from Electro-Voice Speakers?
    • P
      perrychristopherJul 29, 2025
If your Electro-Voice speakers have no sound, there could be a problem with the amplifier or the wiring. First, connect a working test loudspeaker to the amplifier outputs to check if the amplifier is the issue. If there's still no sound, ensure all electronics are on, the signal routing is correct, the source is active, and the volume is turned up. If the amplifier works, the problem is likely in the wiring. Check the cables connected to the amplifier. Play something quietly and connect the test loudspeaker in parallel with the malfunctioning line. If the sound disappears or is very weak, there's a short in the line. Use the test loudspeaker to check each connection until you find and fix the problem, ensuring correct polarity.

Why do my Electro-Voice ELX200-12 have constant buzzing noise?

      christina81Aug 6, 2025
If your Electro-Voice speakers are producing constant noise like buzzing, hissing, or humming, the issue might be a defective source, another electronic device, or a problem with system grounding. If the noise is present even when no program material is playing, evaluate each component to isolate the problem, as there's likely a break in the signal path. Additionally, check and correct the system grounding as needed to resolve any ground loop issues.

      Bradley JacksonAug 13, 2025
If your Electro-Voice speakers have intermittent output, such as cracking or distortion, the cause may be a faulty connection. Check all connections at the amplifier and loudspeakers to ensure they are clean and tight. If the problem persists, check the wiring.

Why do Electro-Voice ELX200-12 Speakers have poor bass response?
    • Y
      ythomasAug 21, 2025
If your Electro-Voice speakers have poor low-frequency response, it might be due to the loudspeakers being wired out-of-polarity. When two loudspeakers are connected out of polarity, the low frequencies will cancel each other acoustically. Check the wire markings or tracers on your loudspeaker wires. Make sure the amplifier (+) terminal connects to pin 1+ of the NL4 connector and the amplifier (-) terminal connects to pin 1- of the NL4 connector.
