Configuring the Modem
1. Connect a PC with HyperTerminal installed to the modem
2. Open the HyperTerminal software. Type the name of the connection in
the field provided
3. Press OK
4. The dialogue opposite is displayed
5. Select the PC Port to which the GSM modem is connected
6. Press OK
7. Enter the modem settings shown below
8. Disconnect the power
Modem Settings for ASL GSM Modem
Type the following commands to configure the modem:
ATQ0 <ENTER> Quite mode off
ATE1 Echo on
AT&C1 " Indicates remote carrier
AT&D0 " Ignore DTR
ATS0 = 1 " Answer after 1 ring
ATS10 = 50 " Comms timeout
AT+CBST = 7,0,1 " (These settings should be set by your service provider).
[Speed], [Name], [Connection Element]
AT+0 Speed 9600 N81
AT+1 9600 E71
AT+2 4800 N81
AT+3 4800 E71
AT+5 2400 N81
AT+6 2400 E71
AT+7 1200 N81
1200 E71
Once configured, remember to change HyperTerminal
baud rate to match.

AT&V " View modem settings
