3.5 Lithium cell replacement
In the meter, an integrated CR14250BL-VY lithium cell or equivalent is used for the real-time clock.
The lithium cell should only be replaced by a service company or in the workshop of the utility or organization that
is authorized to repair and check the meter.
In the meter, it is necessary to remove the seals of the utility, the service department and state verification,
remove the meter cover, and remove the top meter board from the connector. Solder out the lithium cell from the
board and replace it. To replace the lithium cell, it is necessary to comply with the polarity using the symbols on the
board. CR14250BL-VY lithium cell by EEMB is recommended. The lithium cell should have the following technical
specifications: supply voltage +3.0 V; capacity at least 900 (mA•h); working temperature range from minus 40 to
85 °C; self-discharge max 1% per year.
After replacing the lithium cell, set the date and time, initialize the electronic seal of the body (see
САНТ.411152.068-05.1 РП). After replacing the lithium cell, install the board in its original place, close and seal
the meter, and verify it. With each replacement, it is necessary to make a note in the Data Sheet – who replaced the
lithium cell, when and the type of the replacement battery.
In the meter, it is possible to install an additional lithium cell (in case that the integrated battery is discharged)
without opening the meter body. To connect (or replace) it, remove the cover of the clamps (Figure 3.1) and
remove the lithium cell holder, install a new lithium cell in the holder, then reinstall the holder. CR2032 lithium cell
or equivalent is recommended. The lithium cell should have the following technical specifications: supply voltage
+3.0 V; capacity at least 250 (mA•h); working temperature range from minus 40 to 85 °C; self-discharge max 1%
per year.
Note
— When the meter is turned off, replacing the lithium cell will stop the clock (the LCD displays «Attention» ),
so after the replacement of the lithium cell, you must program the current time («Attention» icon will disappear).
ATTENTION! YOU MAY REPLACE THE ADDITIONAL CR2032 LITHIUM CELL WHEN THE VOLTAGE IS ON,
AT THE SAME TIME OBSERVE SAFETY PRECAUTIONS, AS THE LITHIUM CELL IS UNDER VOLTAGE OF 230 V.
