XEROGRAPHY CONCEPTS
Monochrome (Single Color) Laser Printer Image Formation
Laser printers employ the Xerographic or Electrophotographic process. This process uses a laser beam to etch the
image onto a light sensitive material, high voltages to move toner to the paper and heat to fuse the toner to the media.
The entire process can be broken down into 7 steps. The steps are as follows; Conditioning/Charging, Exposure/Writ-
ing, Development, Transfer, Separation, Fusing, and Cleaning.
