E Roll core holder
Place the roll core for media take-up on these holders. There are same parts on both the left and the right.

F Roll support
Rest media temporarily on these supports when removing the take-up roll. There are same parts on both the
left and the right.
G Auto switch
Use this switch to select the auto take-up direction. Choose Off to disable auto take-up.
H Manual switch
Use this switch to select the manual take-up direction. The selected option takes effect when the Auto switch is
in the Off position.
I Heat shield
This prevents the temperature of the ink from rising in the ink tank when using a commercially available heat-
er. When it becomes hard to see inside the ink tank because ink has adhered to the heat shield, clean it.

J Ink tank
This holds the ink to be used for printing.
K Slider

L Lock levers
When removing the slider to replace the chip unit, raise the lock levers to unlock. After installing the slider, be
sure to lower the lock levers.
M Chip unit check lamps
These light up when indicating messages related to the chip unit.
On : Check the message on the control panel's screen and carry out the appropriate measures.
Off : No error.
N Stirring stick
This only comes with ink tanks for High Density Black ink. Stir the ink inside the ink tank with the stirring
stick once a week.
