Item Parameter Explanation
Heating & Drying
Heater Temperature Off, 30°C to 55 °C
(50
*
)
You can set the heater's temperature.
Drying Time Per Pass
0 to 10 secs (0
*
)
Select the time the print head pauses to allow drying after each pass.
Choose from values between 0.0 and 10.0 seconds. The time needed for
the ink to dry varies with ink density and the media used. If the ink blurs
on the media, set a longer time for drying the ink.
Increasing the drying time increases the time needed to print.
If you want to keep a consistent drying time even if the media width
changes, set the following values according to the width of the loaded
media.
64 inches: 2.3 seconds
52 inches: 2.0 seconds
44 inches: 1.8 seconds
42 inches: 1.7 seconds
36 inches: 1.6 seconds
24 inches: 1.3 seconds
Blank Area Feed Quick Media is fed quickly for parts in a print job for which no data exists
(blank areas).
Skip the blank areas by setting Quick. If the ink does not dry enough
when this is set, we recommend the following setting values according
to the number of passes while printing.
1 to 3 passes: Standard
4 passes: Slow
6 or more passes: Slowest
Standard
*
Slow
Slowest
After Heater Feed On Select whether to feed the end of the printout to the heater after
printing (On) or not (Off).
Select On if the media will be cut before the next job starts. Note,
however, that the margin will increase.
Off
*
Feeding Tension
Lv1 to Lv8 (Lv6
*
)
Increase tension if creases appear in the media during printing. The
higher the value, the greater the tension.
Take-up Tension
Auto
*
-
Normally, Auto is used. If creases appear in the media while printing,
we recommend setting it to Manual, and then making the setting value
smaller.
Do the same settings if ink adheres to the back of the take-up roll. If
thick media cannot be wound correctly, we recommend setting it to
Manual, and then making the setting value bigger. The higher the
value, the greater the tension.
Manual Lv1 to Lv9
Media Suction
0 to 10 (8
*
)
When media is waved on the platen, increase the Media Suction. The
higher the value, the greater the suction.
If graininess or out-of-focus characteristics are detected in printing
results obtained using thin or soft media or if the media is not fed
normally, reduce the Media Suction.
