WARNING
VEHICLE CLEANING AND CARE
MOISTURE CAN CAUSE ELECTRICAL COMPONENT DAMAGE. DO NOT USE A PRESSURE
WASHER OR STEAM CLEANER TO CLEAN THE VEHICLE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM.
OTHERWISE IT WILL CAUSE ELECTRICAL FAILURE PERMANENTLY.
Use only commercially available automotive cleaners with a sponge or soft cloth for
normal cleaning. A garden hose at normal residential water pressure is sufficient.
Use a commercially available aluminum cleaner paste and fine grade (No. 00) steel wool
to remove oxidation or discoloration from aluminum.
Use non-abrasive wax products. Fertilizers, asphalt, creosote, paint, or chewing
gum should be removed immediately to prevent possible stains.
The seats of the vehicle will last longer with proper cleaning. Use a solution of 10%
liquid soap and warm water applied with a soft cloth. Use a soft bristle brush to remove
embedded dirt.
Use mild soapy water and a micro-fiber cloth to clean the windshield to minimize the
risk of scratching. Avoid using glass cleaners or paper towels as these increase the
chances of scratching or scuffing the windshield.
Pre-operation before cleaning the vehicle:
1. Move the vehicle on a solid flat ground.
2. Apply the parking brake.
3. Turn the key switch to OFF
4. Remove the key.
5. Place the DNR switch to N.
WARNING
INCORRECT STORAGE CAN CAUSE BATTERY DAMAGE, PERMANENT LOSS OF BATTERY
CAPACITY, OR CAUSE THE BATTERY TO BE UNSERVICEABLE. A FULLY DISCHARGED
BATTERY PUT IN STORAGE WILL MAKE THE BATTERY PERMANENTLY UNSERVICEABLE.
PUT THE BATTERY ON CHARGE DURING EXTENDED STORAGE. DO NOT EXCEED THE
STORAGE TEMPERATURE LIMITS. DO NOT PUT A FULLY DISCHARGED BATTERY IN
STORAGE. INCORRECT STORAGE WILL VOID THE BATTERY WARRANTY.
PREPARATION BEFORE STORING THE VEHICLE
VEHICLE MAINTE NANCE
A EVOLUTION ELECTRIC VEHICLE gives you years of trouble-free service when properly
maintained. Please follow the recommended long-term storage checklist. For more information on
overall vehicle maintenance, consult the owner’s manual.
TWO WEEKS PRIOR TO THE STORAGE
Perform the following procedure at least two weeks prior to long-term storage to ensure proper
mixing of water and electrolyte. It takes approximately five charge cycles with a minimum of 10
EUs removed to properly mix the water with electrolyte . DO NOT water batteries immediately prior
to storage. This will not provide sufficient charge time to mix the water with the electrolyte.
Freezing can occur when batteries are stored in this condition.
For Lead-acid Battery:
Make sure the vehicle is plugged in and the proper electrolyte level is maintained throughout
the entire storage period. Perform the following procedure at least two weeks prior to long-term
storage to ensure proper mixing of water and electrolyte. It takes approximately five charge cycles
with a minimum of 10 Eus removed to properly mix the water with electrolyte. DO NOT water
batteries immediately prior to storage. This will not provide sufficient charge time to mix the water
with the electrolyte. Freezing can occur when batteries are stored in this condition.
For Lithium Battery:
Make sure the vehicle battery is plugged in for charging throughout the entire storage period.
