Theelectroniccontrolunit(ECU)continuously
monitorsoperationoftheEFIsystem.Ifaproblem
orfaultwithinthesystemisdetected,theMIL
isilluminated.Followthetroubleshootingsteps
outlinedintheKohlerengineoperator’smanualifthe
MILisilluminated.
BeforeOperation
BeforeOperationSafety
Evaluatetheterraintodeterminewhataccessories
andattachmentsareneededtoproperlyand
safelyperformthejob.Onlyuseaccessoriesand
attachmentsapprovedbyExmark.
Inspecttheareawheretheequipmentistobe
usedandremoveallrocks,toys,sticks,wires,
bones,andotherforeignobjects.Thesecanbe
thrownorinterferewiththeoperationofthe
machineandmaycausepersonalinjurytothe
operatororbystanders.
Wearappropriatepersonalprotectiveequipment
suchassafetyglasses,substantialslip-resistant
footwear,andhearingprotection.Tiebacklong
hairandavoidlooseclothingandloosejewelry
whichmaygettangledinmovingparts.
CAUTION
Thismachineproducessoundlevelsinexcess
of85dBAattheoperator’searandcancause
hearinglossthroughextendedperiodsof
exposure.
Wearhearingprotectionwhenoperatingthis
machine.
Checkthattheoperatorpresencecontrols,
safetyswitches,andshieldsareattachedand
functioningproperly.DoNotoperateunlessthey
arefunctioningproperly.
DoNotoperatethemowerwhenpeople,
especiallychildren,orpetsareinthearea.Stop
themachineandattachment(s)ifanyoneenters
thearea.
DoNotoperatethemachinewithouttheentire
grasscollectionsystem,dischargedeector,
orothersafetydevicesinplaceandinproper
workingcondition.Grasscatchercomponents
aresubjecttowear,damageanddeterioration,
whichcouldexposemovingpartsorallowobjects
tobethrown.Frequentlycheckforwornor
deterioratingcomponentsandreplacethemwith
themanufacturer’srecommendedpartswhen
necessary.

additionalgasolineinformation.
DoNotaddoiltogasoline.
DoNotoverllfueltank.Fillthefueltanktothe
bottomofthellerneck.Theemptyspaceinthe
tankallowsgasolinetoexpand.Overllingmayresult
infuelleakageordamagetotheengineoremission
system.
Makesureyouunderstandthecontrols,their
locations,theirfunctions,andtheirsafety
requirements.
RefertotheMaintenancesectionandperformallthe
necessaryinspectionandmaintenancesteps.
