3.3 FORCED LANDINGS
3.3.1 EMERGENCY LANDING WITHOUT ENGINE POWER
1. Seat belts, shoulder harnesses SECURE
2. Airspeed 90 KIAS (167 km/h)
3. Mixture IDLE CUT OFF
4. Fuel shutoff valve OFF (Pull & Turn)
5. Ignition switch OFF
6. Battery switch OFF
7. Alternator switch OFF
8. Touchdown SLIGHTLY TAIL LOW
9. Brakes OPTIMUM BRAKING
3.3.2 PRECAUTIONARY LANDING WITH ENGINE POWER
1. Seat belts, shoulder harnesses SECURE
2. Airspeed 90 KIAS (167 km/h)
3. Selected field FLY OVER,
noting terrain and obstructions, then
reaching a safe altitude and airspeed
4. Battery switch OFF
5. Alternator switch OFF
6. Touchdown SLIGHTLY TAIL LOW
7. Ignition switch OFF
8. Mixture IDLE CUT OFF
9. Fuel shutoff valve OFF (Pull & Turn)
10.Brakes APPLY HEAVILY
3.4 FIRES
3.4.1 DURING START ON GROUND
1. Cranking CONTINUE to get a start
which would suck the
flames and accumulated
fuel through the air
inlet and into the engine.
2. Fuel shutoff valve OFF (Pull & Turn)
3. Power 1700 RPM for one minute.
4. Engine SHUT DOWN
5. After engine stop ABANDON aircraft and
inspect for damage
6. Fire EXTINGUISH using fire
extinguisher if available
WARNING
Do not open engine compartment access doors while engine is on fire.
