Front Axle Differential Lock
When driving on rugged or muddy roads,
locking the differential case in the front axle
gearbox will give you the best traction. In
this case, the two front wheels will be driven
at the same rate. It may not be useful to
lock the differential case after you’ve lost
traction, because the skid process has
destroyed the soil structure. Even if you
lock the differential, the front wheels may
continue to slip and will not drive the vehicle
ahead.
