The FERMOD KIT 5000 is an automatic electronic kit designed to motorize Fermatic manual sliding door systems, including models 2120/2130/2150, 2320/2420, and 3430/3530/7530. These manual systems are typically used for horizontal sliding doors with specific characteristics such as iso-thermal, acoustical, clean room, and dust-tight applications.

Function Description:

The KIT 5000 provides automated operation for these manual door systems. It offers five distinct function modes:

Timer 1 mode: Allows for timed opening and closing of the door.
Standard mode: Provides basic open and close functionality.
Timer 2 mode: Offers an additional timed operation mode, potentially with different settings or triggers.
"Press and hold to close the door" mode: Requires continuous user input to keep the door closing, enhancing safety.
"Press and hold to open/close the door" mode: Requires continuous user input for both opening and closing, offering maximum control.

The system integrates a lock for security, a passive edgemount safety device, and a horizontal safety device, all designed to comply with relevant installation country regulations.

Motor Power: 400W (24Vcc).
Protection of the Motor: IP 55, indicating protection against dust ingress and low-pressure water jets from any direction.
Using Temperature: -30°C to +50°C. For temperatures below -10°C, a low-temperature command box is required (refer to separate mounting instructions for the "option for minus temperature").

Usage Features:

The KIT 5000 is designed for ease of installation and operation. The motor can be mounted in a standard configuration or rotated 90 degrees, offering flexibility depending on available space in the right end rail. In situations where space is limited, the motor can also be mounted on the left side of the rail. The installation process involves preparing the rail, fixing the belt adjuster, assembling the door driving mechanism, and mounting the motor. Specific instructions are provided for different Fermatic systems (2120/2130/2150, 2320/2420, and 3430/3530/7530).

The system includes a command box for controlling its functions and parameters. Information codes are available for diagnostics. Available functions include a lock function, stop command, partial opening, and fire detection.

Mounting Precautions:

Installation must comply with local regulations, including ensuring sufficient lighting (50 lux at floor level) and marking out danger areas.
A flashing orange light visible from both sides must signal door movement.
The overall characteristics plate must be attached to the door.
Compatibility between the Automatic Kit and the Fermatic Manual System must be checked.
Door drive sub-assembly fixations must be robust and made of suitable material, free from obvious faults.
The electrical network requires 220-240V AC, 50/60 Hz, with a 3G2.5 mm² connection cable. Each kit must be connected to a dedicated power line protected by a D-curve circuit breaker.

Maintenance Features:

The manual emphasizes the importance of regular maintenance. Final users are required to carry out periodical yearly or twice-yearly checks, or have them performed by qualified personnel, maintaining a maintenance register. The manual includes sections on maintenance and eventual scrapping of the device.

Qualified and certified staff are required for installation and maintenance, especially for risky work under power. Safety devices are not intended to prevent willful acts. The choice of options must be compatible with the door type and conditions of use.
