7.1Routinechecks
Thefollowingperiodicchecksshouldbemade:
•Examinecablesforsignsofdamage,suchas
chang,cutsornicks.
•Checkthatthecableconnectorsarermly
attachedandthattheirlockingmechanismsare
properlyengaged.
Note:Cablechecksshouldbecarriedoutwiththe
powersupplyswitchedoff.

Adjustmentsrequirespecializedservice
proceduresandtoolsonlyavailableto
qualiedservicetechnicians.Thereare
nouserserviceablepartsoradjustments.
Theoperatorshouldneverremovethe
coverorattempttoservicetheproduct.
7.2Unitcleaninginstructions
Theunitdoesnotrequireregularcleaning.However,
ifyounditnecessarytocleantheunit,pleasefollow
thestepsbelow:
1.Ensurepowerisswitchedoff.
2.Wipeunitcleanwithadampcloth.
3.Ifnecessary,useamilddetergentsolutionto
removegreasemarks.
Transducercareandcleaning
Growthcancollectonthebottomofthetransducer,
thiscanreduceperformance.T opreventthebuild-up
ofseagrowth,coatthetransducerwithathinlayer
ofwater-basedantifoulingpaint,availablefrom
yourlocalmarinedealer.Reapplypaintevery6
monthsoratthebeginningofeachboatingseason.
Certainsmarttransducershaverestrictionsonwhere
antifoulingpaintisapplied.Pleaseconsultyour
dealer.
Note:Transducerswithatemperaturesensormay
notworkproperlyifpainted.
Note:Neveruseketone-basedpaint.Ketones
canattackmanyplastics,possiblydamagingthe
sensor.
Note:Neverusespraypaintonyourtransducer.
Sprayingincorporatestinyairbubbles,anda
marinetransducercannottransmitproperly
throughair.
Useasoftclothandmildhouseholddetergentto
cleanthetransducer.Ifthefoulingissevere,remove
thegrowthwithatoughcleaningpad,suchasa
greenScotchBrite
TM
padforexample.Becarefulto
avoidscratchingthefaceofthetransducer.
