Push the child-restraint system rmly 4.
into the vehicle seat. Be sure the
belt retracts as snugly as possible.
Clicking from the retractor will be
heard during retraction if the system
is in the automatic locking mode. If
the belt does not lock the seat down
tight, repeat this step.
Refer to the Child restraint 5.
manufacturer’s instructions to hook
and tighten the tether strap.
Raise the head restraint and pass 6.
the tether strap between the head
restraint supports, this will prevent
the tether strap from falling off
the outboard edge of the seating
positions.
Installing child restraint top tether
straps
WARNING
Child restraint anchorages are
designed to withstand only those
loads imposed by correctly tting child
restraints. Under no circumstances are
they to be used for adult seat belts,
harnesses or for attaching other items or
equipment to the vehicle.
There are three factory installed child
restraint anchor ttings are provided
on the headliner for the rear seating
positions as shown in the illustration.
The anchor ttings are only suitable for
child restraints conforming to AS1754-
1991 or later. If your child restraint does
not have an approved latched hook
attaching clip as shown, you should
consult an approved Restraint Fitting
Station.
