Switched interface configuration
This chapter describes how to connect to the FortiGate-4000 switched interface CLI
and describes the commands that are available from this CLI. You can use these
commands to change switched interface port speed and VLAN configuration.
Default configuration
The FortiGate-4000 switched interface ships with a default configuration in which all
interfaces are enabled and assigned to a default virtual LAN (VLAN) with a VLAN ID
of 1. This default configuration simplifies initial setup by allowing you to use a single
uplink cable (from any external Ethernet connector) to connect the switched interface
to your network. You can then modify this configuration as required.
Connecting to the switched interface CLI
Connect to the CLI of the switched interface by connecting to the RJ-45 COM port
(management interface) (see Figure 26).
