Stale gasoline can also lead to this issue; adding fresh gasoline with a fuel stabilizer might help. Lastly, water or dirt in the fuel system could be the culprit. In this case, remove the carburetor bowl to drain the fuel tank and refill it with fresh fuel. Remember, don't remove the carburetor bowl when the engine is hot.
