Checking after Connection
After connecting all the devices, check that the POWER LED on the power synchronized unit is green or blinking
green. Perform a test to check that the ETERNUS DX/AF turns on/off with the server as necessary.
Check the following operations when performing a test.
For details about LEDs and the status of power synchronized units that are on, refer to "Table 2
Status and mean-
ings of each LED (for power synchronized units)" (page 24).
If a power synchronized unit is not operating properly, refer to "
Troubleshooting" (page 71).
(1)Check the connection status
Turn on/off each server, and check that the linked ETERNUS DX/AF also turns on/off.
(2)Check scheduled operations and power outage settings
Check that the ETERNUS DX/AF turns on/off in accordance with the linked server for the scheduled operations
and the power outage settings.
- Power on by scheduled operations
Check that the ETERNUS DX/AF turns on in accordance with the linked server for the scheduled operations.
- Power off by scheduled operations
Check that the ETERNUS DX/AF turns off after all of the linked servers are turned off by a scheduled opera-
tion.
- Power off due to power outages
Simulate a power outage and check that the ETERNUS DX/AF turns off after all of the linked servers are
turned off according to the power outage settings.
- Power on after power recovery
Simulate power recovery and check that the ETERNUS DX/AF turns on in accordance with the linked server
by the power recovery settings.

For the status of power on/off requests from a power synchronized unit to an ETERNUS DX/AF, check the POWER
SENSOR LED on the power synchronized unit.
• On
The ETERNUS DX/AF is requested to be turned on after detecting AC output from a server UPS unit.
• Off
The ETERNUS DX/AF is requested to be turned off after detecting no AC output from all of the server UPS units.
