Only qualied technicians should repair your notebook. U nauthorized
opening or incorrect repair may greatly endanger the user (electric shock,
re risk) and will invalidate your warranty.
Components

You may remove and install the components d escribed in this chapter yourself
after con sulting the Hotline/Service Desk.
If you remove and install components without consulting the Ho tline/Service
Desk, t hen the warranty of your notebook will be voided.
Notes on installing and removing boards
and components
Switch off your n o tebook and remove the AC p lug from the po wer outlet.
Always remove the battery.
Take care when you use the locking mechanisms for the battery and any other component.
Never use sharp o bjects such as screwdrivers, scissors or knives as a lever to remove covers.

Boards with electrostatic se nsitive devices (ESD) are marked with the label
shown.
When handling boards tted with ESDs, you must always observe the following
points:
You must always discharge static build up (e.g. by touching a grounded
object) before working with boards.
The equipment and tools you use must be free of static charge.
Remove the AC plug from the power outlet before inserting or removing
boards.
Always hold boards by their edges.
Never touch c onnector pins or conductors on the board.
