Important notes
Transporting the notebook
Protect the notebook against severe shocks and extreme temperatures
(e.g. direct s unlight in a car).
Do not transport the notebook while it is switche d on.
Carry your notebook with you while traveling. Do not check it in as baggage.
Never put your notebook through a metal detector. Have it hand-inspected by
security personnel. You can, however, put your notebook through a co rrectly set
X-ray machine. To avoid problems, p lace the notebook as close as possible
to the entrance of the machine and remove it as soon as possible or have i t
hand-inspected by security personnel. Security ofcials may require you to switch
your notebook on. So make sure you have a charged battery on ha nd for this.
Switch the notebook off

Unplug the AC plug of the AC adapter and all external devices from the power outlets.
Disconnect the AC ad
apter cable and the d ata cables for all external devices.
To protect against damaging jolts and bum ps, use a notebook carrying
case to transport your notebook.
Storing the notebook
If storing your no
tebook for a month or longer, turn it off, fully charge the battery, then
remove and stor
e all the Lithium Polymer batteries in a su itable location.
Store your notebook in a cool dry locat ion. Temperatures should remain
between 13 ºF / -25 ºC and 140 ºF / 60 ºC.
Store your not
ebook and batteries separately. If you store your notebook with a
battery insta
lled, the bat tery will discha rge, and battery life will b e red uced. In
addition, a f
aulty battery might damage your notebook.
Always power
off the notebook before transporting and/or packaging it.
After shutt
ing down the notebook, w ait until the status LED panel indicates
the power-
off condition (i.e., no lights are illuminated).
It is possible that the notebook may not automatically go to power-off or sleep mode
when yo u close the lid. This situation may occur due to pre-operating system boot
password security settings or some other application running on the notebook.
