Reset by switching off the battery
If the device no longer resp onds and does not react to the ON/OFF switch, use the battery
on/off button to switch the d evice off, it is located on the bottom of the device.

Restore contents of the hard disk from
Recovery CD/DVD

You can use the "Windows Recovery CD" (o ptionally available) and the "Drivers & Utilities
CD/DVD" to reinstall the operating system.
The in structions are provided on the case of the Recovery CD.
You will need an external optical drive a vailable as an accessory.
During the reinstall process your personal files and any installed programs
will be deleted. We advise you to backup your files to an external hard
drive, or CD / DVD disk before you start.

Depending on the Fast Boot setting in the BIOS Setup utility,thefollowing
information may appear on the screen during start:

► Select CD-
ROM and press the En ter key.
► F ollow the instructions on the screen.
After the i
nstallation you must install all the drivers again. Some installed hardware
componen
ts will not be correctly supported until this has been done.

e "D rivers & Utilities" CD/DVD into the optical drive. The CD starts automatically.
► Click on the Desk Update button.
► Select A
utomatic driver installation (Express) and click on Start installation.
► F ollow the instructions on the screen.
► Restar
t your notebook when the driver installation is completed.
