9.1 Hot-plug hard disk drives

One or two 2.5-inch SAS hard disk drives can be installed in the PRIMERGY

BX920 S2 dual-socket server blade.

The hard disk drives which can be ordered for the server blade BX920 S2 are

supplied already mounted in an installation frame so that defective drives can

be replaced and new drives can be added during operation. The hard disk drive

and installation frame together make up the HDD module.

V CAUTION!

● The hard disk drive must not be removed from the installation frame

by anyone except a service technician.

● The HDD modules (drives) must all be marked clearly so that they

can be put back in their original places after an upgrade. If this is not

done, existing data can be lost.

● The hot-plug function is only possible in conjunction with a

corresponding RAID configuration.
