Starting up and operation
– Starting up for the first time:
For Japan, please refer to " はじめにお読みください ".
Ê Press the On/Off button.
Ê Insert the ServerView Suite DVD into the DVD drive.
Ê Follow the on-screen instructions (see also section "Configuring the
server and installing the operating system with the ServerView
Installation Manager" on page 72 or section "Configuring the server and
installing the operating system without the ServerView Installation
Manager" on page 73).
– System already installed:
Ê Press the On/Off button.
The server is switched on, performs a system test and boots the
operating system.
I It might take several minutes to start up depending on the hardware
configuration. During POST phase a FUJITSU-Logo will be shown on the
screen.
Switching the server off
The AC connected indicator lights up green (item 6 in figure 8 on page 57).
Ê Shut down the operating system properly.
The server is switched off automatically and goes into standby mode. The
AC connected indicator lights up green.
I If the operating system does not switch off the server automatically, press
the On/Off button for at least four seconds and/or send a corresponding
control signal for power button override.
V CAUTION!
There is a risk that data may be lost.
Other On/Off options
Besides the On/Off button, the server can be switched ON and OFF in the
