8.2.3 Replacing the system fan
V CAUTION!
Since the standard system fans 1 and 2 are not redundant, these system
fans have to be replaced immediately.
If one of the four redundant system fans (1&3 and 2&4) fails, one of the
two predetermined fans (system fan 3 and 4) increases its power to
ensure that the server is cooled properly. The redundant system fans
should be replaced as soon as possible.
8.2.3.1 Replacing system fan 2 (and 4)
Ê Remove the defective system fan 2 (and 4) (see "Removing system
fan 2 (and 4)" on page 105).
Ê Install the new system fan 2 (and 4) (see "Installing system fan 2 (and 4)" on
page 113).
8.2.3.2 Replacing system fan 1 (and 3)
Ê Remove the defective system fan 1 (and 3) (see "Removing system fan 1
(and 3)" on page 106).
Ê Install the new system fan 1 (and 3) (see "Installing system fan 1 (and 3)" on
page 112).
