DESCRIPTION OF THE EQUIPMENT
108 OI 248 (EN) REV6 /REV1
The closing spring in the operating mechanism is charged by an
electric motor via a gear unit for the purpose of storing the required
operating energy. The main opening springs are located in the pole
columns and are thus charged during each closing movement. The
spring energy store contains enough mechanical energy to execute
the O-CO operation, even if the motor power supply should fail.
Electrical actuation of the closing and opening coils causes latches
to be unlatched, which releases the energy of the springs for opera-
ting purposes. The spring energy is transferred to the contact sys-
tem by connecting levers and linkages outside and inside the pole
columns.
