Never force the latch handle. Forcing the handle will damage the door lock mechanism.
The oven door must be closed and all controls set correctly for the cycle to work properly.
Wipe up heavy soil on the oven
bottom.
CAUTION: NeverplacecookingutensiUbakingstones,foil,oranyotheritemsonthe
ovenfloor. Evenitems rated for high temperature may permanently adhere to the oven bottom or
causeheat damage to the oven,flooring,or items in storage drawers.
Before a Clean Cycle
Forthe first self-cleancycle, we recommend
venting your kitchen with an open window or
using a ventilation fan or hood.
Removethe racks,any broiler pan, broiler grid, all
cookware and anyaluminum foil from the oven.
Theovenrackscan be self-cleaned,but they will
darken,losetheir lusterand become hard to slide.
Do not use commercial oven cleaners or oven
protectors in or near the self-cleaning oven.
A combination of any of these products plus the
high clean cycletemperatures may damage
the porcelainfinish of the oven.
Soilon the front frame of the rangeand outside
thegasketonthe doorwill needto be cleanedby
hand.Cleantheseareaswith hot water,soap-filled
steel-woolpadsor cleanserssuchas SoftScrub?
Rinsewell with clean water and dry.
Do not clean the gasket. The fiberglass material
of the oven door gasket cannot withstand
abrasion. It is essential for the gasket to remain
intact. Ifyou notice it becoming worn or frayed,
replace it.
Wipeup anyheavyspilloversonthe oven bottom.
Hake surethe oven light bulb cover is in place
and the oven light isoff.
CAUTION: Thegrates and drip
pans (ifso equipped) should never be cleaned
in the self-cleaning oven.
IMPORTANT'.The health of some birds is
extremely sensitiveto the fumes given off
during the self-cleaning cycle of any range.
Hove birds to another well ventilated room.
Appearance may vary.
How to Set the Oven for Cleaning (on models with knobs)
Follow the directions in the Beforea CleanCycle
section.
E_ Latch the door.
[] Turnthe OVENTEMP knob to CLEAN.
TheCleanTime is4 hours and 20 minutes. The
self clean lightwill come on and stay on until
the self clean cycle is complete.
Theoven shutsoff automatically when the
clean cycleis complete.
[] After a clean cycle,turn the OVENTEHP
knob to OFFand slidethe latch handle to
the left asfar as itwill go.
Tocancel self clean cycle,turn
OVENTEMPknobto off and slide latch to left as
far as it will go.Wait until self clean light stops
blinking. Useoven as desired.
NOTE:Neverforce the latch. If the oven is
too hot,you will not be able to slide the latch.
Allowthe ovento cool.

Latch the door.
Touch the SELF CLEAN pad.
Touchthe + or - pads until the desired
CleanTime isdisplayed.
TheCleanTimeis normally 4 hours and 20
minutes.Youcan change the CleanTimeto any
time between3 and 5 hours,depending on the
amount of soilinyour oven.
[] Touch the START/ON pad.
Theself-clean cyclewill automatically begin
after CLEAN is displayed and the time
countdown appears in the display.
Whilethe ovenisself-cleaning,you can touch the
CLOC/<padto displaythe time of day.To return to
the cleancountdown,touch the SELFCLEANpad.
Theoven shutsoff automatically when the
clean cycle iscomplete, and 0:00 will flash in
the display.
[] Slidethe latch handle to the left as far as it
will go and open the door.
NOTE:Neverforce the latch. If the oven istoo
hot, you will not be able to slide the latch. Allow
the oven to cool.
