NOTE: Devices that contain outputs must be configured so that the dual mapping routine can
post loss-of-device or addition-of-device messages. Also, the device status (i.e., the
presence on either Bus A or Bus B) is shared between the Primary and Secondary PLCs
for the purpose of Automatic Role Switching (if enabled).
