Water won’t boil • Cover pan with a lid
• Turn the downdraft fan OFF until the water begins
to boil
Burners have yellow or • Use the illustrations below to determine if your burner

Burners do not light • Make sure electrical plug is plugged into a live, properly
grounded outlet
• See the Installation Instructions section
• Replace the fuse or reset the circuit breaker
• Remove the obstruction
• See Burner Caps, Heads and Electrodes in the
Care and cleaning of the cooktop section
• Use a small sewing needle or paper clip to unplug
Sparking sound persists • Remove knob by pulling it straight off the stem and
after burner is turned off check the bottom of the knob for any buildup of soil
Occasional • This is a typical electrical switching noise

Burner flames very • If cooktop is connected to LP gas, contact the person
large or yellow who installed your cooktop or made the conversion
• Use a small sewing needle or paper clip to unplug
Burner flames make • A “cold” burner ignited in the HI setting may have
excessive noise some flame “roar” or “lifting” This should dissipate
after 4 to 5 minutes
Burner flames pulled • This is normal If cooking performance is affected,
