Precautions on Towing
Use safe chain system for towing, and obey na-
tional/state/city and local laws. Wheels touch-
ing the road surface and wheel drive shaft must
be in good condition. If they are damaged,
towing carriers are required.
(a) Tow with wheel-lift carrier
Tow from the front-release parking brake.
Notice
When wheels are lifted, make sure there is
enough ground clearance at the end. Or,
bumper or underbody will be damaged.
Tow form the rear end
Manual Transmission:
We recommend using tow truck to tow with
front wheels. If there is no tow truck, position
the ignition key at “ACC”, and shift the trans-
mission to neutral.
Notice
Do not tow cars from the front or rear
end with crane truck, or the car body will
be damaged.
(c) Use the hoist truck for towing
Notice
If the car is towed from the rear end
without a hosit truck, do not tow when
the key is taken away or positioned at
“LOCK”. Steering lock system does not
hold the front wheels straight.
Automatic transmission:
Tow with the front wheel
Notice
Never tow automatic transmission cars
with front wheel on ground from rear
end, or the transmission will be damaged.
(b) Use the at van for traction, and lift the
park brake.
(c) Tow with Crane Truck.
