Overview

The FORTRUST 6110D/6120D Controller is a sophisticated device designed for the automation and management of gensets. It serves as a central control unit, enabling users to efficiently monitor, operate, and maintain their generator systems. The 6110D model is primarily used for single machine automation, handling the start and stop functions of a genset based on remote signals. The more advanced 6120D model builds upon this functionality by incorporating mains monitoring and Automatic Mains Failure (AMF) capabilities, making it suitable for applications where seamless power transfer between mains and generator is critical.

Function Description

The controller's primary function is to automate the operation of a genset. This includes initiating the start sequence, monitoring various engine and generator parameters, and executing shutdown procedures. For the 6120D, it also manages the transfer of electrical load between the mains supply and the genset, ensuring continuous power availability.

Usage Features

The controller features a user-friendly interface with a clear display and a set of dedicated keys for various operations.

  • Operating Modes: The device supports multiple operating modes:

    • Manual Mode: Allows direct control over the genset's start and stop functions. Users can manually initiate a start by pressing the "Start" key and stop it with the "Stop" key.
    • Auto Mode: Enables automatic operation of the genset. In this mode, the controller responds to external signals (like remote start or mains failure for the 6120D) to start and stop the genset as needed.
    • Cloud Service Mode: This feature allows remote access and control of the genset via a mobile application. Users can monitor status, alarms, and even adjust parameters from a smartphone, provided the controller is within a 20m range and the mobile device runs Android 8.0, 9.0, or 1.0. An external cloud device (modem) can extend this range, enabling worldwide access over satellite and internet.
  • Key Functions:

    • Stop (0) Key: Stops the running genset in manual or auto mode. Pressing it again during the stopping process will immediately halt the generator.
    • Start (I) Key: Initiates the genset in manual mode.
    • Manual Key: Sets the controller to Manual mode.
    • Auto Key: Sets the controller to Auto mode.
    • Close/Open Keys (for 6120D): Used to open or close the genset's breaker in Manual Mode.
    • Close Key (for 6110D): Closes the genset's breaker in Manual Mode.
    • Open Key (for 6110D): Opens the genset's breaker in Manual Mode.
    • Set/Confirm (OK) Key: Enters the menu interface and confirms selections in the parameters setting menu.
    • Up/Increase (▲) Key: Scrolls through screens and increases values in the setting menu.
    • Down/Decrease (▼) Key: Scrolls through screens and decreases values in the setting menu.
    • Home/Return (%) Key: Returns to the homepage from the main interface or exits the parameters setting interface.
    • Reset Key: Resets alarms. If the fault persists, the alarm display will remain active.
    • Cloud Service Key: Enters the cloud service mode, allowing for Wi-Fi connection via a QR code for mobile app integration.
  • Alarm Management: The controller provides visual and audible alarms for various fault conditions. The alarm light illuminates, and the alarm message is displayed on the screen. The "Reset" key can clear alarms, but if the fault is still present, the alarm will persist.

  • Calendar Settings:

    • Work Calendar: Allows scheduling of genset start and stop times. When enabled, the genset will self-start according to the set schedule.
    • Experiment Calendar: Provides up to four groups of start and stop times for each day. In automatic mode without a self-start signal, the genset will automatically start and stop based on these settings.
  • Parameter Setting: A comprehensive menu allows users to configure various operational parameters, including delays, voltage thresholds, speed settings, and sensor curves. Access to these settings is protected by a password ("1921").

Maintenance Features

The FORTRUST 6110D/6120D Controller incorporates features that aid in maintenance and troubleshooting:

  • Remote Monitoring: Through the cloud service, users can remotely monitor the genset's operating information, fault conditions, and emergency stops. This allows for proactive maintenance and quicker response to issues.
  • Remote Parameter Adjustment: The mobile application provides a "Calibration Data" function, enabling administrators to remotely adjust all controller parameters. This is particularly useful for fine-tuning performance or resolving issues without needing to be physically present at the genset.
  • Detailed Parameter List: The user manual provides a detailed list of parameters with their ranges, default values, and descriptions. This information is crucial for understanding and correctly configuring the controller for optimal genset performance and safety.
  • Sensor Configuration: The controller supports various sensor types for temperature, pressure, and fuel level, with options for user-defined curves. This flexibility ensures compatibility with a wide range of genset configurations and allows for accurate monitoring of critical engine parameters.
  • Output and Input Customization: Auxiliary outputs and inputs can be configured for specific functions, such as energizing to stop, idle control, preheat control, fuel pump control, and various alarm inputs (high temperature, low oil pressure, warn, shutdown). This customization allows the controller to integrate seamlessly with diverse genset designs and operational requirements.
  • Diagnostic Indicators (for External Cloud Device): If an external cloud device is used, it provides LED indicators for power, 4G connectivity, GPS status, RS485, CAN, and LIN communication. These indicators help in quickly diagnosing connectivity and communication issues with the cloud service.

The FORTRUST 6110D/6120D Controller is designed to provide reliable and flexible control over genset operations, with a strong emphasis on automation, remote management, and user-friendly configuration.
