Before checking the coolant level,
first turn on the car with the coolant
cap off to make sure the coolant is
circulating through the system.
Note: Coolant should be checked
with the engine cold. The ideal fluid
level is approx. two thirds full.
It is common for small pieces of rubber from the front tyres to get
caught in the sills.
These pieces of rubber will melt and create smoke due to the
proximity of the exhaust, especially in the pit lane when the air flow
around the area is greatly reduced.
To prevent the pieces of rubber entering the sill, ensure the meshing
shown in figure 5.5, is correctly fitted and the sills are regularly
removed and cleared of any debris.
