Repair Overtemperature Switch
1. Perform Shutdown, page 50.
2. Wait for heaters to cool.
3. Remove heater cover (10).
4. Disconnect overtemperature switches (209) from
cable (46). Test across spade terminals with
ohmmeter.
a. If the resist
ance is not approximately 0 ohms,
the overtem
perature switch needs to be
replaced. G

b. If the resis
tance is approximately 0 ohms,
inspect ca
ble (46) to ensure it is not cut
or open. Re
connect the overtemperature
switch (20
9) and cable (46). Disconnect
cable from
TCM. Test from pin 1 to 3 and
1to4. Ifre
sistance is not approximately 0,
and switc
hes are 0. Replace cable in place
of origin
al cable.
5. If switch
fails test, remove screws. Discard failed
switch. A
pply a thin layer of thermal compound
110009, install new switch in same location on
housing (201), and secure with screws (213).
Reconnect cables.
