UTILITY: The utility menu provides abundant sub menus: Printer menu, Interface 
menu,  (Beep),  Language,  self-cal menu,  System Inform,  Go-No Go 
menu, and No Go When. 
z  Printer Menu: If a printer is connected and properly configured, 
GDS-820/GDS-840 series can print a hard copy of the LCD display. Press F1 
softkey again to select printer. This oscilloscope supports the following printers: 
z  Type HP: Both Hewlett-Packard’s LaserJet laser printers and DeskJet 
inkjet printers supported. 
Press the pushbutton of HARDCOPY pushbutton to start printing from any time 
after printer is properly configured.   
Note: GDS-800 series oscilloscopes do not support any GDI printers. 
Note: The USB of this oscilloscope is “DEVICE” only, this oscilloscope 
DO NOT support any USB printers. 
Note: Printer menu is available for GDS-806S/C and GDS-810S/C with 
interface option, GDS-820S/C and GDS-840S/C. 
z  Interface Menu: This oscilloscope can transfer data between the scope and 
other instrument over the RS-232, USB, or GPIB interface. Press F1 softkey to 
select the GPIB location.   
Note: Interface menu is only available for GDS-806S/C and GDS-810S/C 
with interface option, GDS-820S/C and GDS-840S/C. 
For RS232 setup 
z  Type RS232: Select RS-232 communication port. 
z  Baud rate: Transmission rate in characters per second. Transmission rate 
selections are: 2400, 4800, 9600, 19200, and 38400 baud. 
z  Stop bit: Press the adjacent pushbutton to select “1” or “2” bits.
