Section 2
2.6.1 Sequence Operation of the Pump Control Timer
When the Sample Countdown display reaches zero, three things occur
simultaneously:
1. The Sample Countdown will reset.
2. The Sample Delay time set on the lower of the two potentiometer will
count down.
3. The wastewater supply pump will turn on for the length of time set on the
Pump On potentiometer.
The cycle will continue until the preselected number of samples are delivered
to the sample container(s). The sampler will shut down and a Sample
Complete indicator light will be displayed on the front panel.
2.6.2 Wiring the Pump Control Timer
Note: Larger pumps require an
additional external relay suitably
sized for the larger motor.
To wire the pump to the sampler, use the gray jacketed cable with a green
band located in the junction box on the back of the sampler cabinet (see
Figure 4 on page 16 and Table 1 on page 15 for more wiring information.) The
internal relay (dry contact closure) for the pump is capable of operating up to
1
/6 horsepower and 120 V ac or
1
/3 horsepower at 220 V ac.
