SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Read the user instructions carefully before use.
Save them for future reference.
WARNING: Risk of explosion. Battery charging produces explosive hydrogen gas.
• Charge batteries in well-ventilated areas, at a safe distance from naked ames, sparks
and other sources of heat. Make sure there is adequate ventilation when charging
batteries. Use a piece of cardboard or other non-metallic object to fan away the gas.
• Follow the instructions of the vehicle manufacturer. Failure to follow all the
instructions and safety instructions can result in a risk of material damage.
• For indoor use only. Do not expose the charger to rain or snow.
• Check before use that the battery data corresponds with the data on the
charger’s type plate.
• Check that this charger is suitable for the specic type and capacity of battery.
– Recommended minimum battery capacity: 40 Ah
– Recommended maximum battery capacity: 750 Ah
• Check the battery voltage (specied in manual for vehicle). Check that the initial
charging current does not exceed what the battery manufacturer recommends.
• If the battery has to be removed from the vehicle to be charged, or if the
battery terminals need to be cleaned, always disconnect the earthed battery
terminal connection rst. To prevent sparks or arcing, check that all electrical
equipment in the vehicle is switched o.
• Never cover over the charger – risk of overheating. The charger has
overheating protection, which resets when it has cooled.
• Never use the charger in the vehicle. Put it on a level, stable surface to avoid
the risk of material damage.
• Batteries for marine use must be taken out and charged on land. Special
equipment is required for charging on board boats.
• Never modify the product in any way. Repairs must only carried out by an
authorised service centre. Only use spare parts and accessories recommended
by the manufacturer.
• Do not attempt to charge non-rechargeable batteries. Only charge lead-acid
batteries of the type and capacity suitable for charging with this charger. This
charger is not intended to charge AGM or gel batteries.
