produce less noise from those later stages and lowest overall noise.
Every electronic device produces some noise during operation
Noise Reduction - If some residual hiss or hum is detectable, it
should be assessed while everything is connected live, while there
is no signal from playing. It may then be targeted & notched down
for recording
The valve will add some hum as it is in the nature of the device, but
noise has been kept to a minimum and its pleasure giving audio
effects are usually seen as well worth any additional noise
Valves can also be susceptible to microphonic, percussive noises
picked up through the enclosure. EDB-2 VAP is designed to
minimise these effects, which are further reduced by fitting the low
noise versions of the valve, as provided when new
WARNING!: SOME LOWER COST 12AX7 VALVES WILL
INCREASE NOISE / MICROPHONICS LEVELS AND IT MAY NOT
LAST AS LONG
EDB-2 VAP offers an exceptional feature in that it may still be
operated without a working valve installed, or by switching or
blending it out
To reduce residual noise further and cut battery consumption, turn
off features not in use e.g. XLR In, Harmonic Enhancer, Phantom
Power to jack In, Phantom to XLR In, valve, Notch Filter, Phase
Reverse. Also, to reduce noise further, turn down valve, Harmonic
Enhancer and/or Treble Control
