Controls the lowest frequency of the audio spectrum. Cut Bass
ACW to cut body handling noise, boomy sounds, externally
generated hum, percussive clunks and low end feedback as well as
any instrument bias towards the low strings
Increase Bass CW to beef-up tone or bias lower strings more
strongly. High strings will produce some lower tones or
sub-harmonics which will be enhanced or reduced by the Bass
Control for a more sharply focussed Bass cut, use the Range
Control pots. The Notch Filter may also be used to reduce
excessive low thumps from some contact pickups or microphones
ii) LOW MID CONTROL: +/- 12dB centred broadly, approximately
@ 590Hz
With a broad sweep it allows control of Low Mid range of frequency
spectrum which is centred above Bass but below High Mid or
Treble. These will thin down tone, or naturalise the tone of lower
mid biased sound e.g. to linearise speakers, compact speaker
cabinets or magnetic pickups which are often mid biased
Cut Low Mid ACW to reduce body handling noise or over loudness
on lower strings, muddiness and boomy sound
Increase Low Mid CW to thicken tone. This is popular on nylon
strung instruments when playing finger-style or steel strung slide
playing
iii) HI MID CONTROL: +/- 12dB centred broadly, approximately @
880Hz
