Valve types other than 12AX7 may fit the valve socket base on
EDB-2 VAP, but their operation will not be correct and this may
negate the guarantee
7.2.5 SETTING UP YOUR “RICH” HARMONICS VALVE SOUND
VIA CH.1 & CH.2 FOR BLENDED SOURCES
Set up your usual live sound as above, but with pickup or
microphone on each channel
Two sound sources may be differentiated more effectively by
combining a warm source with a potentially brighter sound. Doubler
will apply as an option, only to Ch.1
7.2.6 VALVE SOUND FOR PARTICULAR USES
SOLOING. Soloing or playing a melody usually benefits from
increased volume and a thicker, weightier sound. Increase upper
and lower mid range, turn up the Valve Blend and apply “Doubler”
POWER CHORDS. Power chords may be enhanced by a
combination of careful tuning of the EQ, increasing of bass and
treble, plus High Harmonics Enhancer, possibly lowering High Mid
and Low Mid. Blending in valve adds an additional dimension of
richness
CUT THROUGH. To achieve a powerful rhythm guitar sound that
cuts through a mix or ensemble, try the single valve, add some
harmonic enhancer with treble boosts and mid cuts
