Auxillary In is intended for a sound source not requiring signal
processing or high gain. Aux In is typically for pre-recorded backing
tracks or drum machine. Aux may be used as a simple 3rd Channel
to Master Volume, where there is a strong active signal and may
require a jack adapter ( 1/4” / 6.35mm to 3.5mm ). This arrangement
does benefit from separate controls . See: Aux In 14.0
8.2 MICROPHONE USE NOTES :
VALVE USE WITH MICROPHONES
EDB-2 VAP applies audible warmth to the sound of any microphone
across a range of applications. Condenser microphones can offer
great detail and sensitivity on amplifying acoustic, orchestral, world
music instruments or vocals. Condenser microphone sound
amplified over standard solid state equipment may sound a little
harsh or cold tonally and may be greatly improved in quality by
applying EDB-2 VAP “Rich” Harmonics via the valve. See: Phantom

MICROPHONE MOUNTING ADVICE
Headway Music Audio suggests caution on the use of internal
microphones within instrument bodies. Miniature microphones
supplied with most pickups available, or purchased separately at
low cost are often poor quality. These are usually electret
condensers
Musical instruments are voiced to be heard from the outside,
whereas internally, body sounds usually offer excessive mid/bass
boom
