11.1 RANGE CONTROL SETTINGS
On the lowest ACW setting:
i) Bass /Full Range: this rolls off gently below 40Hz. If the
instrument’s lowest note is at 40Hz, such as lowest note on a 3/4
double bass, it produces nothing below that except possible
unwanted thumps, handling noises, pops, feedback and rumble
This setting might be a starting point for all bass instruments. You
may prefer a little higher setting for baritone guitar, cello and
mandocello
ii) Guitar: Cuts bass frequencies gently below around 80Hz, which
may allow sufficient signal when the lowest string is dropped from
bottom "E" to "D" (70Hz) or down to "C" (65Hz). Alternatively turn
control ACW to increase low frequencies . Setting also applies as a
starting point to 12 String, electric and nylon strung guitars,
resophonic and pedal steel guitars plus other mid range
instruments,
Ensure that Combo Amplifiers and P.A speakers are capable to
reproducing these guitar and bass frequencies as many small
cabinets will typically not produce any fundamental frequencies
below about 130Hz
iii) Violin: Cuts bass and low mid frequencies significantly below
200 Hz. This setting also applies to similar smaller, higher pitched
instruments such as mandolin and ukulele. If this setting is applied
to a lower pitched viola or tenor mandola for instance, the
fundamental low end would be significantly trimmed
