20.5 INTERMITTENT or LACK OF SIGNAL?
Check that all connectors are pushed firmly into their sockets
Do NOT leave switches in mid position between settings as this
could make pre-amplifiers inoperative until set positively
Jack sockets and XLRs need to be kept clean or can short out
functions. Send & return jack sockets may be the first connectors to
deserve attention and if dirty these can make channels inoperative.
Apply switch cleaner with lubricant, WD40 or the like, on the probe
and plug in and out repeatedly for 30 seconds to clear the socket
Check that Power switch is ON, Mute is OFF, Gain control(s) and
Master are turned up and Jacks are fully home. Also check that your
other gear is on and turned up
Check that controls and switches are not faulty and shorting out, by
moving them too and fro, applying a small amount of switch cleaner
to their bases and seeing if the fault ends in different positions
Ensure batteries are in good condition and connectors on the
correct way around Ensure PSU is properly plugged in at both ends.
