4. If the oil level is near or below the lower limit mark on the dipstick, remove the oil filler cap/
dipstick, and fill with the recommended oil into the engine between the upper and lower
mark. Do not overfill.
C Running the engine with insufficient oil can cause serious engine damage.
5. Reinstall the oil filler cap/dipstick (fig. 5a)
HIGH ALTITUDE
At high altitude, the standard carburetor air-fuel mixture will be excessively rich. Performance
will decrease, and fuel consumption will increase.
High altitude performance can be improved by installing a smaller diameter main fuel jet in
the carburetor. If you always operate the machine at altitudes higher than 1600 m above
sea level, have your authorized dealer install the high altitude main jet.
This machine will not perform well at high altitudes without proper adjustment. Contact
a authorized service center for adjustment information.
TIGHTENING BOLTS AND NUTS
Keep all nuts, bolts and screws tight to be sure the equipment is in safe working condition.
PRIMING THE PUMP
C The pump chamber should be primed with full of water before operating.
Never attempt to operate the pump without priming water, or the pump will overheat. Operating
the pump dry will destroy the pump seal. If the pump has been operated dry, stop the engine
immediately, and allow the pump to cool before priming. Such damage due to overheat is
disallowed from coverage by the warranty.
1. Remove the filler cap (fig. 7). Completely fill the pump chamber with water.
2. Reinstall the filler cap and tighten securely (fig. 7).
PUMP PLACEMENT

For best pump performance, place the pump near the water level, and use hoses that are
no longer than necessary. That will enable the pump to produce the greatest output with
the least self-priming time.
As head (pumping height) increases, pump output decreases. The length, type, and size of
the suction and discharge hoses can also significantly affect pump output.
Discharge head capability is always greater than suction head capability, so it is important
for suction head to be the shorter part of total head.
Minimizing suction head (placing the pump near the water level) is also very important for
reducing self-priming time. Self-priming time is the time it takes the pump to bring water
the distance of the suction head during initial operation.
The machine must be placed on a horizontal, flat surface which is suitable for the weight of
the machine, including water content.
To avoid some vibration, the unit should be placed on an elastic base.
The working place should be ventilated well and weatherproof. When operating in garden
ponds, the machine must be placed on the flat, stable surface to avoid flood the unit and
possibility of fall.
