IMPORTANT! Never start the engine until the battery is fully charged! Make sure
that the key is in the OFF position.
The machine comes with a connector for recharging (fig. 12A), near the battery, to be connected
to the connector for the special “HECHT 000548” maintenance battery-charger (fig. 1 part 24)
supplied (if included) or available on request.
Use only original charger supplied with the machine.
Never use this charger for other types of batteries such as alkaline, lithium, carbon zinc or other
types that are not specified.
The charging unit should only be used at normal indoor room conditions, do not expose it to
moisture, rain or extreme heat.
Charge the battery only in dry, well-ventilated rooms.
Never use any power cable and transformer other than those originally supplied with the
charging unit.
The rechargeable batteries may become hot during charging (especially when a high charging
current is chosen).
Unplug the charging unit from the power source and machine when not in use.
CHARGING PROCEDURE
WARNING! Do not start up the engine while the battery is charging.
1. Insert the charger cable fully to the charging hole (fig. 12B).
2. Connect the charger to the mains supply. The mains voltage must match the operating
voltage of the charger.
3. The charging time is affected by battery and battery´s age. Charging a flat battery can take
up to 10 hours.
SIGNALLING ON THE CHARGER
Charging is in progress - the light is red.
The battery is fully charged - the light is green.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
TO START ENGINE
WARNING! Carbon monoxide gas is toxic. Breathing it can cause unco nsciousness
and even kill you. Avoid any areas or actions that expose you to carbon monoxide.
MANUAL START ELECTRIC START

1. Ignition is connected through the cable and the spark plug cap (the rubber boot) with
the spark plug. Check the connection (fig. 13A).
2. Turn the fuel valve - if equipped - (fig. 14F) to “ON“ position.

When starting cold engine, turn throttle choke lever (fig. 14A) to
position. When
starting warm engine turn throttle lever to
position.
4. Standing behind the mower, grasp the brake control handle (fig. 14B) and hold it against
the upper handle as shown in.
