3. Close the fuel cap firmly.
4. Turn the engine switch and fuel valve (if equipped) to the off or stop position.
5. Let the engine to cool down before transporting.
6. Take care not to drop or strike the machine when transporting.
7. Tie down the machine securely in an upright position while transporting.
8. Take care not to strike the machine when transporting. Do not place objects on the machine.
TROUBLESHOOTING
CAUTION Failures of your machine which require larger interference must always
be eliminated by specialized workshop. Unauthorized interferences can cause
damages. If you can not rectify the fault using the measures described here, contact
an authorized service center.
PROBLEM PROBABLE CAUSE CORRECTIVE ACTION
Engine does not
start.
Incorrect starting procedure Follow the chapter Start the engine.
Choke lever is not in the correct
position.
Move choke lever to correct position.
Fuel tank is empty. Fill tank with fuel.
Air filter element is clogged. Clean air filter element
Spark plug loose.
Tighten the spark plug to the recommended torque
- see Specifications
Spark plug wire loose or
disconnected from plug.
Install spark plug wire on spark plug.
Spark plug gap is incorrect.
Set the correct gap between the electrodes - see
Specifications
Spark plug is defective Install new, correctly gapped plug
Carburetor is flooded with fuel
Remove air filter element, spark plug and pull
starter rope continuously until carburetor clears
itself and install air filter element, and cleaned
spark plug back. Start without choke.
Faulty ignition module Contact the authorized service agent.
The engine does not start after
turning the key (only models with
battery starter)
Recharge the starter battery
Engine difficult
to start or loses
power.
Dirt, water, or stale fuel tank.
Drain fuel and clean tank. Fill tank with clean, fresh
fuel
Vent hole in fuel tank cap is
plugged
Clean or replace fuel tank cap.
Air filter element is clogged. Clean air filter element.
