3.1 Earthing Resistance
Earthing resistance measurements differ from
ordinary resistance measurements, due to the
factors described below.
(1) Polarization
Because of polarization between the earthing
body and the earth ground, using a direct
current for measurement is not possible.
(2) Special conditions
Because one pole of the earth resistance
measurement object is buried in the ground, it
cannot be taken out for measurement. Also,
because the earthing resistance is a spreading
resistance from the earthing body, it is
necessary to use the 3-pole measurement
method with sufficient distance between the
measuring electrodes.
