Storing the storage system
If the stor
age system does not receive power for more than six months, the
battery can become discharged and possibly damaged. To avoid this
situation, charge the battery for more than three hours at least once every
six months.
Note: Do not store the equipment in an en
vironment with temperatures of
104ºF (40ºC) or higher because battery life will be shortened.
Using flash module drives
Observ
e the following guidelines when handling the listed flash module drives
(FMDs). The types of FMDs are equipped with a battery or capacitor.
Power up the flash module drives using power from the storage system for at
least 90 minutes every month. Failing to do so may render a flash module
drive unusable and will abrogate replacement under the terms of the
warranty.
